PLASTIC POLLUTION

What types of projects do we work on?

We focus on projects addressing marine litter pollution, particularly plastic debris, which is a global concern. Our efforts target the reduction of land-based marine litter originating from runoffs, sewer overflows, littering, inadequate waste disposal and management, and industrial activities. We also address ocean-based pollution from the fishing industry, nautical leisure activities, and aquaculture. Our projects aim to foster healthy interactions between coastal communities and the ocean, promoting sustainable and transformative changes in socio-economic systems.

Who do we work with?

– The Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM – CSIC) – MedCities – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre (MARE) – Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) – Universidad de Antioquia
